Emergency Medical Services
Emergency Medical Services provided by the Fire District account for approximatley 68 percent of our annual call volume. Typically, Fire Station 1 crews respond to incidents in the area east of Randall Road. Our crew assigned at Fire Station 2 serves residents of our District in the west area. Response to EMS incidents vary based upon staffing availability and overlapping calls.
Our emergency personnel are cross-trained firefighters that are also certified by the Illinois Department of Public Health as Paramedics or EMT's. Our crew staffing presently consists of both full and part-time members. Each of our medical personnel are required to complete 130 hours of continuing education each year to maintain the IDPH license in good standing. Training is provided by our Resource Hospital - Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital.
